Moisture and insulation analysis
Thermal imaging surveys reveal conditions invisible to the naked eye. Moisture trapped behind walls, beneath roofing membranes, and within building assemblies creates temperature differentials as water evaporates and materials retain heat differently. Our infrared cameras capture these variations, identifying hidden moisture, missing or compressed insulation, air infiltration paths, and thermal bridging throughout your building envelope.
For building diagnostics, thermal surveys provide information traditional inspections cannot: exact locations of moisture infiltration without opening walls, insulation gaps causing energy loss, and water damage that has not yet shown visible signs. We combine infrared imaging with moisture meters to verify findings, ensuring accurate diagnosis rather than relying on temperature patterns alone.
Survey results include annotated thermal images showing temperature variations, analysis explaining what each anomaly indicates, and recommendations for remediation. For rooftop projects, we map moisture conditions to guide selective replacement—saving significant cost by identifying exactly which sections need removal while preserving dry areas.

“Christi brings over 20 years of architecture and construction expertise. She holds a Master of Architecture from Arizona State University and has worked across diverse roles—from residential design firms to co-founding a design studio and teaching interior design in New Mexico. For the past 11 years, she has specialized in Chicago home inspections, developing deep knowledge of Midwest construction methods and materials. Her background enables her to identify complex issues as part of the design/build process.”

“David is a Chicago native who earned both his BS and MS in Civil and Environmental Engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He brings over 10 years of structural engineering experience across a wide variety of residential, educational, commercial, medical, industrial, and military projects, including both adaptive reuse and new construction. He demonstrates a strong commitment to client collaboration and takes satisfaction in developing optimal structural solutions for his projects.”
