Chicago storms knock out power for hours, sometimes days. Sump pumps stop. Refrigerators warm. Pipes freeze in winter. Medical equipment fails. A standby generator eliminates the worry—it starts automatically within seconds of an outage and runs until power returns.
We install Generac and Kohler whole-house generators sized for your electrical load. Natural gas models connect to your existing Peoples Gas service, so there's no fuel to store or refill. The system monitors utility power 24/7. When it detects an outage, the transfer switch disconnects from the grid and connects to the generator. Lights flicker once, then everything runs normally.
Installation involves more than dropping a generator on a pad. We pour a proper concrete base, run gas lines, install the transfer switch at your panel, and program the weekly exercise cycle. Permits, inspections, and Peoples Gas coordination are included. The generator runs a brief self-test each week so it's ready when you need it.
