Full remodel, all trades
Bathroom renovations expose what's behind the walls—and in Chicago's older homes, that often means cast iron drains needing replacement, galvanized supply lines corroding from the inside, and electrical that predates modern codes. A complete renovation addresses everything: gutting to studs, correcting moisture problems, updating infrastructure, and rebuilding with materials and methods that prevent future failures.
The sequence matters critically in bathroom work. We demo carefully to assess hidden conditions, then address structural issues before anything else. New plumbing and electrical rough-in according to your fixture layout. Moisture barriers and cement board backing create the waterproof envelope that keeps water where it belongs. Only then do tile, fixtures, and finishes go in—installed over a properly prepared substrate.
You get a bathroom that performs as well as it looks. Tile adhered to correctly waterproofed walls, fixtures mounted to blocking installed during framing, ventilation adequate to prevent moisture damage. The visible finishes are just the surface of a bathroom built right from studs out.
