New bathroom construction
Adding a bathroom where none existed solves real problems—the morning bottleneck with one bathroom for four people, no bath near guest bedrooms, or the need for an accessible bathroom on the main floor. The challenge is bringing water supply, drain lines, and electrical to a new location while meeting Chicago building codes and not disrupting the rest of your home.
Bathroom additions require routing new plumbing through existing structure. Drain lines need proper slope to reach the main stack or a connection point—sometimes that means opening floors or ceilings in adjacent spaces. Supply lines and venting follow; then electrical for outlets, lighting, and exhaust fans. We plan these runs before demo begins, identifying the least invasive path and any structural considerations.
The finished bathroom functions like it was always part of the house. Proper ventilation prevents moisture problems, adequate electrical supports your fixtures and accessories, and plumbing performs without affecting pressure elsewhere. What was unused space—a large closet, corner of a basement, or portion of an attic—becomes a fully functional bathroom.
