Faced with failing decking, water issues and unattractive outdoor space; we worked closely with the client to develop low maintenance, attractive and functional outdoor living space.

The garage was reconstructed and transformed into the deck you see here. Porcelain tiles and tropical hardwood trim form the deck surface, while the arched steel and ipe pergola provides shade and intimacy.

Ipe wood privacy screening conceals the alley to the east. Landscaping and plant materials soften the space and add natural elements to the urban setting.

The grill and appliance counter is accessible year-round, making this space perfect for entertaining through all Chicago seasons.
